Decompress, relax, retreat, respect, study, share
The projects we do will be undertaken with an eccentric approach towards discussing the most pertinent esoteric and material queries of our day.
PROGRAMMING
EDUCATION
DARLA is a curatorial entity based in Saskatchewan that will work with artists in all locations and within a translocal context. Projects will be selected by invitation and open submission and disseminated en plein air, in professionally managed art spaces, on the Internet, in pop-up spaces or other sites as per the ideal context for the work.

ADVOCACY
Funding will be sought for unique ideas that articulate or challenge the mission of the defrag lab, current cultural paradigms and with projects that address things like - the post-digital world, global social transformation, G5, A.I., Generation Z, Black Goo, programmable matter, hybrid bodies in space, Expanded Cinema, sound art, frequency, somatic practices, avatars, Performance, obsolescence, future science and others open to your input and practice.

SUPPORT
(Defragment) The practice of marking the now unused space of a deleted file in a table as available for later use (without erasing its contents), is why undelete programs are able to work; they recover files whose names have been deleted from the directory, but whose space has not yet been reused.

DARLA
(Defragmentation Art Research Lab & Associates)
DARLA is a new project whose mission is to work on defragmenting the arts and its ecology following on the introduction of technologically-based, digital art tools, forms and discourses. We are looking for original works and projects that can be realized/disseminated as talks, podcasts, papers, sound files, concerts, performance or exhibitions. They can take the form of a social or conceptual utility, atomic media and/or be based on documentation, archives, artifacts, graphs, equations, time-based or other plastic (arts) material.

"Nothing exists in the same dimension as the performing artist."

EXHIBITIONS AND ARCHIVES
The Art Machine demands a representation of what’s happened to it.
